Cannot open bonnet

I have a 02 Ford Transit, i cannot get the bonnet open. I have sprayed wd40 inside the lock but it will not shift. I don't want to snap the key in the lock. Any help appreciated.

Only thing that might help, get someone to press hard down on the bonnet as you try the key,

If it works oil all the lock mechanism.

I have a vague feeling that the lock works backwards on them. If you have recently bought it and have not opened the bonnet before, give it a try without forcing it.

rub the key with a lead pencil.insert the key -turn right to activate the release mech and turn fully left to open.
