Old warning signs anywhere in the UK?
Anyone over 40 will remember when our road signs had the red triangle on top rather than being the sign itself. I know a few survive but being a new collector of the whole series, need one of these to complete the photos. London had about three and each had gone by the time I went to take them.
Does anyone know one they have seen with address so I can either go and get a photo or add it to my national list.

Thanks Panic Button, that's where I learnt half the ones I've got! I'll look the next one up (towns please!) but if it's in Poulton then it's a wee bit of a way for me!
It's a shame we can't post images here as I missed one round the corner from me that only went a few years ago and everyone should take a photo of theirs before it's too late.
If you do please get them online and linked, I've uploaded over 50 direction and information signs so far but the warning one has evaded me although I have a new one with an old triangle I don't have a full combination.

Thanks Paul, I forgot to mention that, but when I got there although the pole and triangle are there the old sign was removed and they put a dodgy replica on. I've got some nice pictures of it but not the real deal yet.
I've just heard of one on a country road at a junction on the edge of Hertford (triangle long gone), if anyone knows of it and whether it's still there, and an address that would be ideal for me.

mdoo, that is very exciting indeed, there are probably only a few of those in the whole country! Pinewood Studios had one at their gate and as soon as I found out last year they made a new entrance and took it out before I could take it.
Please do and let me know the location although of course it's unlikely many will be near me in North London.
I did however discover my T Road Junction sign last week in Hertford although it didn't have a triangle but if I can get to every other one I find myself I will take them as well.
Do you have a photo site where you'll be posting it as I'm not sure whether we can contact each other here any more for emailing photos etc?

Thanks Mdoo. I'll also make a short list of places I know of already to save anyone doubling them.
Clent, Worcs
Hatley St George, Cambs
Kersey, Suffolk
North Yorks. moors
Falkirk
Wolverhampton
Isle of Wight
One by one no doubt some have gone since I saw their photos already, and this is a very short list. I am hoping one will turn up closer to London so I can take it, as I missed one by weeks in November on my doorstep. I am suspecting the list is almost complete but then again they missed the two I knew of locally and they tend to be very remote.

I added the answer on Flickr there, it was a fingerpost which were exempt from removal.
I have since found a handful of old warning signs around London, one actually does have a triangle so sorted on the main front, although a corner has dropped of the old school sign in Bethnal Green. I hear they are making the road one way and those tend to be the times any old signs are discovered and taken as they did here when they put humps in (although not when they extended the kerb a few years earlier).
I just found a Halt sign of my own on a private road in Bushey, and one I don't remember seeing 'at main road ahead' as it wasn't that major. Like the T junction also on a private road in Hertford it had no circle as they usually did, but the sign was in very good shape.
That leaves three known working UK halt signs as another turned up in Bristol and sharp eyes around the country are gradually filling in more with the lion's share around Birmingham and a few around Glastonbury. With the internet now it's possible to find many locally someone else has posted until we catch up with many more, probably with the help of Streetview now as well.
