We are selling a van and the buyer has done a HPI check. This shows outstanding finance and has flagged as on the at risk security register. However, the finance was repaid July 2006 and as we are the owners from new there is no reason it should be on the security register. How can we go about getting this changed? The buyer was supposed to be coming tomorrow.

You need to contact the finance company and request they remove the tag for you. It should be instant in most cases and ask them to send you confirmation that they have no further interest in the vehicle.
