battery size

my car is fitted with a 12v 44Ah battery
could i replace this with a practically new battery i have had given by my brother-in-law due to him getting a new car, this was in the old one
which is 12v 50Ah. or am i going to damage something?

Can't see a problem. It will hold a slightly higher charge so you can crank the engine over a bit easier on these cold mornings.
Just thought...make sure it fits before you go to the hassle of changing it. Batteries have all sorts of lips and ledges which the clamps are designed to hold on to and not all batteries fit all cars. Also check the terminals suit your battery lead fittings.
& you may have to reset your radio code,
if it has one
