petrol prices
Has any other person noticed how TESCO prices have gone up over the past few weeks? In their stores they have notices comparing the prices of their goods against other Supermarkets but no mention of their prices on the forecourts being higher.

A point is worth a penny -but can only be spent in Tesco. If their price is 2 or 3 pence above other local filling stations you will be paying for your 'double points'.
Sign up to petrolprices.com and get regular prices on cheapest fuel in your area. I was a regular at Tesco but have found two local places cheaper and with less queing at the pumps.

I've noticed fuel prices creeping up, even though the price of oil still very low. It is either because profite are falling because of the downturn in car sales and car use or retailers/oil companies are just plain greedy. Trouble is, what can we, the motorists do about it.
I really think the British people will soon be taking to the streets like the French about this and the depression in general. Beware the wrath of a patient man, someone said.

For the last month petrol prices have crept up eveywhere by 1-2 pence a week. These online petrol price comparison sites were helpful but now I think garages and supermarkets use them to keep prices in line- it's a form of collusion.
The pound/dollar value has some bearing but mainly it's collusion and profiteering.
Tesco used to be competetitive but have been charging more than Shell for over a year now.

I don't want to sound bitter but Tesco put me out of my shop 10 years ago and I could see the writing on the wall then. Tesco have been out, over the last 10 years, to put small business's out of business but as usual we all ignore this and carry on shoping at their stores. Years ago I heard from an employee of Tesco that they were giving up trying to be the cheapest supermarket (they could never beat ASDA) so instead they just put their prices up as they figured people wouldnt notice, lets face it if you dont shop elsewhere your not going to, and it seems to have worked. Within another 10 years we will all be shopping at probably one of two superstores and one will be Tesco. There isnt really a solution but there is an idea, why don't we all vote with our feet and start supporting local shops and business's after all "Every little Helps"
