brake pedal on ford mondeo

the brake pedal on my 1997 1.8 diesel estate has gone hard ,i have changed vacum pump but to no avail has any one come across the same problem with answer to problem

Take the pipe off the servo & try your brake. take it from there. I take it the car is stopping?

the car is stopping but not as it should do the pedal is right at the top and very hard to push down ,took of pipe on serv still the same

Have you just had new pads fitted? if not have you checked the area around the Brake pedal for loose trim etc. Try sending a bit of WD40 in the area of the brake links in that area (above your brake pedal )
