hi, and hello not been on for a long time i was wondering if any of you good people may be able to help me , i have a 2000 zx6r ji model bike which has a very annoying prob, i use this bike every day for work it starts no probs but after about 15 mins it develops a prob which i can only describe as fuel starvation,i have given the bike new plugs, oil filter, oil, air filter, fuel filter etc but the prob still persists, have any of you good people any suggestions for me , many thanks in advance john.
have you checked the fuel tank breather??..not sure weather its at the filler cap or if its a tube from the bottom of the tank on this model. basically if it's blocked or obstructed it will cause a vaccuum to build up in your fuel tank thus causing fuel starvation.....about 15 minutes sounds just about right for the problem you are having.
some times it's caused by the cold air in the morning rushing through the inlets. this causes a bit of icing in the carbs ( mostly affects lower speeds and small throtle settings. )
i used to stop the bike for a minute after about two or three miles and allow the warmth of the engine permeate to the carbs.
obviously this doesn't occur in warmer weather.
