mk3 mondeo radio/engine management

my radio in my mk3 mondeo says 1 hour on the display when i switchit on, and when driving it goes off on its own and then wont turn back on for about 5-10 mins and then comes on again etc...also today while this was happening the engine management light has come on and wont go off.....it drives fine still but i can hear a strange noise underneath near the catalyst when i turn the key im wondering if the lamda sensor is faulty causing the light to come on plzzzzz help

ok i have just took the battery off for half hour put it back on started the car the lights now gone?...
