Hi AJ. I asked a similar question a couple of months ago but didn't get much feedback,

Bought A Dodge Calibre year and A half ago, and find it the most economical car that we have ever had, returns over 50 mpg regulary. Had small engine manegment problem shortly after I got it and phoned hot line number, within the hour car was collected on low loader, courtesy car delivered and my own car returned within 48 hours. comfy to drive and cheap to insure. Would recomend to any one.

Surprises to hear fergie use the word economical - colleague of mine had one and found it rather thirsty and

Dodge only claim 46.3 MPG! and the reviers got mid 30s

Does also look a bit like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

DODGE. I think the answer is in the name.
Dodge Calibre - isn't that an oxymoron?

Hi AJ,
I'm a manager in the Retail Motor trade. Of what I know, the Dodge Calibre isn't a bad car in anyones eyes - except us in the motor trade. I suggest you do NOT buy new, unless you're happy to lose half your money in the first 12 months. Better to buy one at 11 - 13 months (certainly no newer) - with very low mileage, and look to pay about 60% of the new price (depending on the model).

As for the car itself - not bad, but nowhere near as good as the equivilant European car, especially VW Golf, SEAT, Audi, or some of the better japanese - eg Toyota & Honda. Still don't buy new though.
