Have been told it could be either the main fuel pump in the engine or could be one of the fuel injectors!!! I know its going to cost big money to fix either so anyone have any idea just how much Im looking at please!!

I am fully convinced I used the diesel pump but when the mechanic checked, it was petrol! Car wouldnt start, then mechanic flushed it all out and it was fine, used the car on Tuesday then after it was laid up for 3 hours it wouldnt start again! They towed it away and said they would try changing glow plugs, filters etc (whatever a service involves), none of this worked, it would start with EasyStart but then once turned off would not start again, and then they said they would have to speak to a specialist mechanic because faults in modern cars are diagnosed by computer and this person said by the symptons it sounded like either the main fuel pump or one of the fuel injectors but they couldnt fit the car in to even diagnose until Monday!! My friend (mechanic who flushed it) said it depends on the diagnosis whether he will actually be able to fix it for me or whether this other place will need to.
Im probably rambling but dont really understand cars except that I am always careful about putting right fuel in! Im going in today to see the garage manager to ask about CCTV, I went yesterday but he wasnt there, I checked the pump and there are only 2 hoses on it - one black, one green! I know I wouldnt have used the green one because I have been driving diesel car for years so I want to see CCTV.

Hi, I have a dispute with garages putting the derv pump next to the Petrol, I know people should check but with the amount of times this happens is uncalled for & can be avoided. Ist, the garage SHOULD NOT HAVE USED EASY START to start you car, once a derv gets the hint of this product it like cigs, they need it all the time, was the fuel filter changed? was the tank cleaned out? Glow plugs are only a help in cold weather they heat up the derv for Quick starting, has there been any problems with other persons in your area as regards this garage? Is there possibility that there has been a water insertion into the Garages Fuels tanks? You can bye Recon injectors for your car for Half the price of new ones & they are as good, With Injectors the tips (Holes where the fuel delivers tend to close up in-turn reducing the amount of fuel del to the port. I would get your Mech to syphone the complet tank of fuel, the filter, & blow the lines this then should sort your problem.
