Fiesta 1.25 (2009)
Hi,
Am considering getting brand new Fiesta 1.25,as my local dealer is offering great bargains on this model.
The only thing I'm worried about is will this engine size be or feel underpowered?
Most of my previous cars have been 1.4 or 1.6.
Dealer praises it of course, but theres nothing like comments from existing owners.
Regards

It is expected that the government will give a 2000 voucher set against a new model if you take your 9 year old + vehicle to the scrap yard. The existing car deals should be the same unless the greedy suppliers remove them. In Germany under the same scheme people were buying cars for half the listed price.
I had one a few years back and i was quite impressed by the power of the 1.25 engine, pulled 4 up no problem . The thing i remember most and this was part of the original advertising campaign was how quite and vibration free the engine was. Forever looking at the rev counter(tacho) when sationary to make sure i hadnt stalled it !!
Thanks guys, your feedback sounds ok,will probably do a deal on my 2006 Fiesta 1.4 Zetec.
Although I did have a test drive, due to horrendous traffic conditions and huge tailbacks (M25 related),we were unable to get out of third gear.
davewr, the dealer is Essex Ford at Dunton, but I'm an ex customer,so they were very kind to me.

Hi I run a Ford dealership in the north west.
New Fiesta has 2 different 1.2 engines - a 60ps available only in studio and style models, and an 82 ps.
The previous Fiesta is slightly underpowered as a 1.2 and personally the 1.4 is my preference BUT the New Fiesta is alot lighter and the 82ps is fantastic - one customer saying it was nippier than her 1.4 Pug 206. I haven't driven the 60 ps model much so I can't say for certain on that one.
As for prices- they are getting more expensive and harder to get hold of due to unprecedented popularity and it's claimed (by Ford) the weakening pound.
If your dealer has any in stock at old price (They went up considerably after feb and then up again in april) that is where you will get the best deal.
