If warning signs are triangular with pointed bit up why arre give way signs in a triangle pointed bit down?

Upward triangles are warnings for information.
Downward triangles -stop and give way - are instructions to do something.

Isnt the Order signs in O's?
The 'Give Way' sign has been inherited from the days before the European standardisation of traffic signs, in the same way that the octagonal 'Stop' sign has.
