What size vehicle

What size vehicle would you recommend to carry 2500 bricks, one that can take the weight on the axle?

I've recalculated and it's closer to 2000, so a 7.5 tonne wagon (non H.G.V you see) wouldn't be suitable?

You could use a 7.5 tonne if you split the load and did 2 trips.

The normal payload for 7.5tonne vehicles is about 3-3.5tonnes (strangely 6.5tonne wagons normally have a slightly higher payload, but still not enough)

As MM says, you would need two trips in a 7.5tonner

I drive a HGV with a tare weight (empty) of 7 Tonnes, Gross weight (Full weight) of 12 Tonnes thus giving a Net weight (payload, carrying capacity) of 5 Tonnes. Be very carefull as darren says, VOSA are VERY strict!

If I split the load in 2 would I be able to do it in a twin wheel base or long wheelbase Transit (etc)?

Can you not get someone with a Hi ab to pick up remove & drop them where it does not involve you handling the bricks twice?

long wheel base transits are 3.5tonne and have a payload of about 1.5tonnes (1.4 to be safe if it's boarded out), sure you can do the maths.

If you are buying that many bricks will they not deliver?

I was thinking of hiring tipper, handballing the brick isn't a worry to me, Im just trying to minimise my trips.
