Hi, can anybody shed some light on my problem? car may start ok on first pull, however sometimes needs a little priming from accelerator pedal, then when it starts runs fine, then park car turn off engine and when you try starting again it dosent want to know until you pump the acc.pedal and then wait for say 5-6mins. Would i be on the right track if i thought it was the fuel pump as it seems to be when the car is stood after a short run and then the problem seems to relate to fuel starvation?
Sorry this is so long winded but they say when visiting the Doctor you should tell him all you know! many thanks in anticipation.

Hi, Is there fuel in the car? Is it the right fuel? take off the fuel tank top & listen for the fuel pump puming, if poss slacken the pipe to the carb if the fuel is present you will see it, Blockage in the fuel line, check the fuel pump connectors! are the connectors clean?
If it is a fuel injection model, then Vauxhall recommend you do not touch the accelerator pedal before or during starting.

Perhaps you are flooding it, but more likely there is a totally different cause.

I would start with a good service, if due, and a bottle of injector cleaner into the fuel tank.
