Face Lift Model

I'm currently looking to buy a used car and have seen one which looks just what I need.
The bodywork looks sound, the interior is immaculate and having driven it the engine too
seems good. However, on checking the dealers website the vehicle was described as a
'Face Lift Model'. The mileage is low for the year of manufacture but the vehcle has a written service history. Can anyone advise me what the face lift model phrase actually means?

After a few years of production a car model is given a "facelift".
This means that there will be slight differences to a car of the same model but a year older.

Usually the differences are mostly around the front and rear lights, radiator grille and dash board.

the car was manufactured at a time where they had updated the cosmetic looks/trim level/spec or performance of the model, some cars made in the same year will carry the older design and the face lift ones will carry the newer design, some cars have some but not all of the updates.

compare a pic of 2 cars made in the same year (one being prior to the facelift) you may see subtle changes
