Unless of course it's a fairly modern diesel, in which case you can remove it altogether,

you cannot clean a cat converter. When they are "full up" they need to be replaced.

Halfords do or did sell a can of something that was supposed to clean and restore the Catalitic converter.

Don't know if it's anygood.
