How to repair scratches on plastic panels
I have managed to put a minor scratch on the metallic silver paint on a plastic front wing of my new VW Golf. Can somebody please tell me how I should go about touching it up to make it (almost) as good as new? I have taken the first step and purchased a touch up kit from my local dealer but I would welcome any tips.
Thanks

as Zacmaster says , DONT !! it will look even worse, experienced body shops struggle to match silver, they wouldnt touch it up they would paint the complete wing (depending where the scratch was) and even possibly blend the door for a decent finish...
A reputable smart repair company should be able to help, you may find it might even polish out (machine polished )...on the plus side it wont go rusty

if the scratch has exposed the black plastic underneath, a touch up kit will look better than that!
all I can suggest is to shake/mix the paint really well. Metallics are notoriously difficult to match due to the metal flakes in the paint, but the finish always looks 'flat' if the flakes aren't woken up and stay at the bottom of the pot.
