Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 16v 52 reg
Hi All,
Last night my car started acting up on the motorway. Was driving at 70mph and the car started to lose speed, so dropped a gear, tried to accelerate and car wouldnt play ball. Pulled over, left it for 10/20mins and tried again... Car then was struggling to go above 40mph and making pretty loud noise!
Took it to a garage today, and they say the head gasket is away, and my engine is wrecked? Car engine not making too much of a loud noise, and can still go alright below 40mph, just looking for some reassurance/advice?
Now got car booked into a vauxhall specialist on Wed morn, hoping they will be able to help,
Any comments very welcome!
Cheers, J.

This is going to be low coolant/holed radiator
Pump belt or pump impellor failed
They can't tell you it is wrecked (it may not be) ... as you are still driving it same day and they haven't stripped it to check.
Don't make it worse by continuing to drive it. Water may be getting into the cylinders and will cause rapid erosion and wear of the rings/piston(s) (as steam) with no lubrication .. as will be washed away.
