We all know that the open road can be a joy to drive - yet the key component of this statement is "open". When faced with everyone we have to share the nation's roads with we may feel differently about "the joy of driving". Some are rude and others are quite frankly dangerous. With this in mind, which driver "type" do you think poses the most risk to others?

Delboy3 is so right, but add black Range Rovers to that.
you should have taxi drivers on there. :-)
Bus drivers who seem to think they can pull out from stops whenever they like regardless.

I find young women drivers have got just as aggressive as young men drivers.

I would actually tick everything on the list! There are good and bad in all groups.
The taxi drivers in our area are the worst I've ever seen - arrogant, no signals, speeding etc.
I agree with lottie, there are a whole range of bad drivers who fit in all of the above catagories and some not mentioned like nervous drivers
theres 2 categaries missing there
1 is the impatient driver
2 is the all flash and no cash brigade :-ie the bmw, audi and other similar type of cars that drivers use to push past people
but as for lorry drivers they are in a better position to view the road up ahead but as in all aspects of life there is a minority that ruin the good name of lorry drivers

ps. I might be a bit bias there as I hold a lgv 1 and psv licence
Bobjugs, to a point I would agree with your Answer, the So-called HGV drivers of today think they can handle the 44 tonnes, that remains to be proven, a lot pass their test on a Friday with an Empty 38foot Trailer, then on Monday the drive a 44 Ton loaded trailer, the difference is DEATH IN THE MAKING, who is at fault, the Ministry of transport for allowing this to happen, experience come with time not with 10 fcking spot lights on the roof as some of these clowns think, & before the so-call drivers give me the flack, 38+ yrs Exp, not your Tutlinners, but sheets, Chinese, mind you, a lot would not know what that mean!! only experienced drivers would know that.
LoftyLottie, bus drivers are supposed to get priority when moving off from a bus stop, but unfortunately most people do not know their Highway Codewell enough.

Rule 223

Buses, coaches and trams. Give priority to these vehicles when you can do so safely, especially when they signal to pull away from stops.
Volkswagon drivers are the worst
It has to be young / new drivers without a doubt.
White van man is the scourge of our area. They seem to think a bumper is something they have to attach themselves to!!
to be honest young drivers arnt that bad old drivers are just law abiding just watch out for the business man on a mobile in a bmw or even the scouser in a vw
Makes me laugh how Elderly drivers are cars such as a 1.8 Golf, makes them even more dangerous, give them a 1.2 !!
Right I've made a note of the ones who posted 'elderly drivers' and am currently revving up the SmartCar.
I must beat the younger ones as I've never had an accident or insurance claim in 35 years of driving.........the younger ones can't match that.
Also foreign drivers are an asbolute joke
Foreigh lorry drivers, one smashed into my daughter when he joined the Motorway didn't see her, hit her side on, spun her around then hit her again. The car was a writeoff she's lucky to just have whiplash. Turkish driver with two passengers this is still being dealt with.
Askyourgran, just a point, if you daughter was forward thinking especially on a motorway ( With respect to your Daughter) she should have seen that HGV dropping down the slip road so she should have been in the middle lane, too many people condemn HGVs, but there is are a lot of a difference's , the Acceleration of a car to a HGV, cars have all round vision, HGVs do not, the Height of the HGVs cab to your car, to people traveling on motorways (If I may) as you approaching the inside lane HGV, is it a Foreign HGV?? is the writing on the HGV English? are the number plates different? If you can remember these simple things this will keep you clear of danger, Just remember Askyourgran, YOU CAN SEE THEM, BUT THEY CANNOT SEE YOU. if you keep this in your mind, you will not go far wrong, Source of Info 38+yrs of seeing it happen. Safe driving.
craft (never had an accident or insurance claim in 35 years of driving.......) if they could match that they would not be young ?
Craft - how many accidents have you seen in your rear view mirror?
TWR, as a fellow artic. driver I disagree with you. Askyourgran's daughter is not at fault for being swiped by a foreign artic.

She did not have to get into lane 2 just because a lorry was on the sliproad, although she is at liberty to choose to do so.
Even though the lorry was left hand drive, if the river had set his mirrors correctly, and kept the clean, he should have been able to see her car. The lorry driver was at fault.
