I was interest in buying a new car from a certain main dealer. The salesman quoted me a certain figure saying that if i did'ent buy before 31th March 2010 the car would be £1200 dearer after that date as the car manufacturer would be withdrawing their incentive scheme. Could this be true or is it more clap trap from a salesman mad for a sale. Any replies would be welcome.

probably a bit of both, & desperate to get his monthly sales figures up, it is a buyers market out there on new vehicles, dont be bullied..
complete bowlocks, just like the DG salesmen who alsways say you can have the discount, but you must sign today! Just let them offer their lowest price then knock 20% off that, that's the starting point.

Thanks lads. Some of these salesmen give me the creeps, especially when they try and welcome you by trying to shake your hand. UUGH UUGH !
im very cynical where any sales people are concerned car or otherwise, its basically an act to sell....(and i work in the motortrade)
My reaction is usually cut the c**p save everyone the time and effort and give me your bottomline price...
Don't accept a coffee from a car salesman.
It will be roasting hot, meaning you cannot get away from him for some time.
