passed my test a year ago and i'm looking for a bike i can use mostly as a weekend/week night toy but also occasionally take my girlfriend out for a few days, so it'll need to be large and stable enough for 2 people plus a bit of luggage but also a bit of fun round the hills in north wales on an evening. tend to go for naked bikes but i'm open minded. what have you got and would you recommend it?

No mention of budget but..
If you've just passed your test I wouldn't recommend anything over 600cc or so,

As a naked all rounder, maybe Yamaha Fazer or Honda Hornet.
I confess I've not owned either but they sell well and I've not read anything bad about either.
naked bikes? is this different from naked biker riding?
Yes sara ! quite different lol

haha i'm not THAT open minded. prob about £2500 max as we've just bought a house
we've got a fazer 1000 and its very comfy for pillion and will take a fair bit of luggage on it too.
I'm so disappointed.
sorry 'bout them muffins Sara, you should have stuck to my Asda lemon cake. :)

(sorry for interrupting the trend of conversation badmonket)
society, you're right. I'll bet that would've been scrummy! (sorry badmonkey)
i would agree with poeple who have said fazer, very good bike, fairly quick and pretty nice lookin as well, good long distance tourer also, good all rounder.
Suzuki Bandit.
Cheap spares, cheap to fix .. conventional.
Good value for money.
(and it looks ok naked!)
