Our "K" reg VW camper van needs a new ignition lock. I've purchased a new barrel but now can't figure out how to fit it. Can anyone out there give any help/advice? Many thanks in anticipation.

not familiar with this vehicle but on many early cars you had to drill the housing (1/8th drill) to release a pin which allowed it to be withdrawn, does the new barrel give you indication of this? clip, pin, spring etc. ?
Usually, the barrel is fitted with shear bolts into the column housing. You may need to centre-punch these undone/out .. or drill them out.
Usually, the key has to be inserted and turned to a certain position and then the barrel and key removed from housing.
Also .. sometimes there is a spring-loaded pin that has to be compressed through an access hole to remove the assy.
You really need to check a manual.
