Yes and Yes!
yes if you can drive a manual you will be able to drive an automatic its easier
Easy peasy - just keep your left foot tucked out of the way and yes, you can drive an automatic on a manual licence (but not he other way around).

thank you
Tuck your left foot back away from the pedals though, you only use one foot in an auto and if you are used to driving a manual you will try and go for the clutch at some point if you keep your left foot anywhere near the pedals, this normally results in applying the brakes very hard.
I had an automatic a few years ago, loved it! so easy to drive, but more fuel! still great! Have a manual nowaday, it's ok. but prefer an automatic anyday!............
I hate automatics. I think the car is driving you. In my opinion an automatic also uses more fuel.

does anyone drive an audi a8 automatic, is it easy to drive
It's like driving a dodgem with a brake - just remember the object is not to bump the other cars and you must go round the track anti clockwise.
Annie, i hope you don't go around roundabouts anti-clockwise! automatic car or not! :-)
Nah benny - that's a joke - couldn't drive an automatic myself, I like my gears. though having said that, there is a mini roundabout jut up from my house that I take on the wrong side if the road is empty as has much more room on the other side of the road.
There are a couple of roundabouts near me that you can go round them both ways. (OK strictly speaking they are lots of mini roundabouts all around one big one)
Question Author
i dont think you can go round a roundabout both ways but the right way?
Hmmm i know what ya mean, im forever doing that! so much easier half the time :-)
sometimes for me (moped rider) its more dangerous to go all the way round the mini ones than it is cut the corner, its so easy to lose balance when ya have to go that slow!
has anybody tried this one ?

Nope, and i wouldn't bloody want to, besides, my moped wouldn't make it to swindon! :-(
Vulcan,

No not that one, but there are two of those close to me, the Colchester one, and the canvey island one

here's out nearest one.. I'll be seeing it tomorrow. http://www.tachoblog....oundabout-hh-sign.jpg
i had a semi automatic once. It took a week or so to get used to it. I'd been given the advice to tuck my left leg away too. It did help.
