ZAFIRA 2001 1.6 16V POWER STEERING FAILURE,PAS JUST CUT OUT

HI i have just had my 4th child so brought a zaifra as i needed a 7 seater ,working fine for a month or 2
then on our way back from registering the birth of my daughter ,the steering just packed up,scary experiance,there is no noise leaks engine lights ect coming from the car before or after the pas packed up,just stopped working,as of this the car is pretty much unusable as it is far to hard to turn,
i had to sell my last car as the pump -rack went had both replaced still didnt sort the problem so had to sell,i have been laid of work so simple cant aford to get it fixed if it is a major problem,
i have checked fuses and for leaks everythings fine there unfortuantly ,so i am stumpted

any help would be much appreciated kind regards phill

As far as I know Zafira's use an electro-hydraulic power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system to drive the servo. It's probably either the motor or the servo. The following is a link to the owners club who may be able to assist with info / cheap parts.

Check the fuses Phil, but check with the ign off.
