My husbands grandad has really started to lose his marbles, lives on his own and everything but doesn't know what he is saying anymore and gets very confused. The thing is he still has his own car and drives around every day. This really annoys me and I want to put a stop to it before he kills himself or someone else. How would I go about this without anyone finding out it was me? Father in law has half heartedly spoke to him but he just said how would he get about? Hubby tells me to butt out and I've not to do anything!

I said this was an emotive subject. For the record there are far more road deaths in my area caused by young newly qualified drivers (usually their own) than codgers. Motorbikes are high up there too.
That doesn't mean they're good drivers prudie

Elderly drivers do a lot less milage - if you analyse the figures on an accident per mile basis, young men still come out worst but very closely followed by women over 70 and then men over 70.
well first hand experiance off old gits in cars.

i have just got back from my delivery and i stupid or blind old person on a roundabout went straight across it as in 3 lanes instead of keeping to her lane pushed 1 driver onto the roundabout and hit the wing mirror of another.

total and uttlerly stupid.how there was not a bigger accident is only down to the twit going slow so other drivers saw what was coming iykwim
