How difficult is it to get a Rover part for a Rover engine ?
Problem - Kit car fitted with new rover 2L twin cam T -series engine. Suspect Coolant Water Themister is faulty.
Give engine number to Rover Dealer but they cannot supply a part number without a chassis number.
But never having been fitted to a Rover car how can I get the required part number?
The existing sensor is a Lucas sensor with a number stamped on it but they cannot cross reference it to the the original number - is driving be mad !
Help.

Does the kit car not have an owners club which could help?
Rover dealers are crap at anything now.
Go to an automotive electrical place, and ask if they can get/have Lucas account. Ask them to get one.
Tried the part number in Google? .. ie " Lucas %&*&%"!&^*) "
