What was the mechanics opinion?

His opinion was to get it .. Just anxious buying a car that needs work doing .. But the cars ive been to look at today have been really bad and for alot more money .. Buying any car is a risk i guess .
That's very cheap for a focus, How many miles has it done?
Then buy it! For 750 quid inc a cam belt change, if it only lasts you a year you will have had good value.
I take it it's an early one then with high miles.
Thought you were talking thousands yesterday.
Can do a Zetec belt on the driveway.
petrol or diesel ? cam belt change is for peice of mind as much as anything if you havent got the full history of the vehicle, its all part of normal servicing wouldnt regard it as 'work needed'
Cam Belt?? How much have you got left on the Auto clutch adjustment? front pads? If you intend to bye this car Jonah, get the thing fully serviced including Ancillary belts, it sounds as if its done over 80000?? is that right?

Hi guys sorry for not replying sooner i have to go to library to use internet .Thankyou for your replys .. Its done 78000 miles and is petrol .. I do feel that it may need pads doing it also creaks when turning the steering wheel ... If i have to spend another couple hundred on it i dont mind just hope it wont cost more than that .. Thankyou all again :-)
My 54 plate Ford Focus creaks when I turn my wheel. More so in dry weather. Thought it was the coils so got a mechanic to look at it and he said they are fine. Still creaks. I enquired about the cambelt on mine and Ford said that they can go to 100,000 miles before cambelt change but I agree better to be safe than sorry.
