Demist

I have a Fiesta '06 and I cannot get it to demist the windscreen I've tried all the airblast stages ( the air does come out)as well as the variations of heat but with no success.It gets a bit dodgy this time of the year when the sun gets low in the sky.Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how I can overcome this problem please? Thanks!

If your sure that your heater is blowing normally, then all you can do is the following:

1. Remember that the easiest way to demist the windscreen is simply to open the car's windows ;

2. Ensure that the screen is REALLY clean. The water droplets that form the mist on your screen form more quickly (and adhere better) if there's a thin film of grease on the screen. Call in at any supermarket and buy a bottle of 'value' vinegar. Clean your screen, both inside and out, with it. (Your car will smell like a chip shop for a day or two but it's worth it in the interests of safety!) ;

3. Treat your windscreen with an anti-mist solution. See the reviews here:

Had this problem a few mornings ago - have to agree with Chris about opening a window and cleaning inside of screen (I used a slightly damp microfibre cloth); if you have air-con, this is useful for demisting as the air produced maybe cooler but is very dry so helps clear moisture. My handbook recommends this method.

Check under the mats for moisture, as wet carpets will keep the air damp.

If here is a pollen filter in the ventilation, get it out and see if it is wet.
