Audi A3 Cambelt
4 Answers
Can anyone give me some advice? I recently bought a 2006 Audi A3 from a Car Supermarket (who shall remain nameless). The car had 72K on the clock. They told me they would replace the cambelt before selling it to me. I don't beleive they have done it and want to know how to check if it has been done without taking it to Audi and paying £££ to check.
If they haven't done it, who should I get in contact with to make a complaint and to get them to pay for it? I have paperwork from the Car Supermarket saying it would be done.

If you find out it hasn't been done, I would write a letter to the Sales Director (phone them and ask for his name) and copy it to your local trading standards office, expressing, politely, your dissatisfaction. If you did take it to a main dealer and it cost a few quid, I would try to recover this from them. BTW sent the letter recorded delivery.
If you look around the Cam shaft cover / Rocker cover if the nuts/ Torx bolts have been disturbed! look for signs of clean areas around what I have said, if you have some knowledge what to look for you should see within the Cam shaft cover area signs of disturbance. Did you get this statements in writing? if so & if need be use this for evidence.
