cars for short people

my wife is 4' 11'' and has been learning to drive in a ford focus. She can't get her heel on the floor and presses the pedals down with the tips of her toes (size two feet!). She's got back problems and has to stop for a while. Can anyone recommend a car that she should learn in? Or, is there anything on the market that could make it easier for her to drive a bigger car - eg, pedal extensions etc. If so, where would I get them from? Thanks!

Although 4'11" is just under 5"- I'm surprised that the Focus seat doesn't allow adequate adjsutment. Does the squab move up and down as well as back and forth? It might be possible to fit a seat from a higher spec model if not.
