removing snow from car

i do not use my car in the snow so it has been on the drive for a week covered in the stuff, my question is can it do harm to the paintwork leaving it until it thaws?

Greater risk removing it.

been losing it for years DT ahh well at least i no need to go out with the broom and dust it off now I know, cheers guys
Bird poo such as seaguls can ruine the paint work according to Watchdog programe.
