Most probably have done in the past and now feel it is all an illusion, a sop to let you think you have a say. Did you ever sign any of those petitions on the No. 10 website when it was running ? Did you ever get a response that was more than something along the lines of "Unfortunately we are doing it anyway because..."
"What the hell is the matter with you people?"
Apparently we got a dose of reality along the way (and seem to be less affected by the sunspot cycle than those who haven't). In the UK anger has to boil over in the public before they contemplate doing something which actually might have an affect. Generally they are a lawful people, normally.
