can anyone help me. driving my corsa today was all fine but then i parked up went to the shop and when i came back my corsa wont go into reverse. when i put it in reverse its in 1st, when i put it in 1st it is 3rd etc its like the reverse gear has vanished

try the above - you don't say what reg is it C <2006 or 2007 > D or B<1999.
they are prone to linkage failure whatever year i believe -
replacements are available from ebay a bit cheaper than Vauxhall ones.

Yep ..
Check/replace gear linkage. Thay all do it .. especially 1.2's
