Hi, last saturday i was driving down a road and a car infront of me suddenly stopped dead in the middle of the road i stopped and there was approx 4-5 meters between us he suddenly started to reverse and hit my car. It all happened so fast. my car has since been declared a write off. I could n't believe what had happened. He acceped he was at fault at the roadside, but since has told his insurance company i was to blame. It happened outside a pub (i believe he had missed his turning!!) i have since been in and got 2 witnesses. Is there anything more i can do because i dont want to pay anymore for this mans stupidity. Thanx

report it to the police as there are a gang of people doing this sort of thing to rip off the insurance companies, the police will be very interested.in hearing about it as its a big scam they are trying to sort out.
This happened to a friend of mine and the other driver claimed that my pal had rammed him. It took ages for the insurance companies to sort it out.
Did your witnesses actually see what happened or can they only give an opinion?
Best of luck.

thanx its ok ive never claimed before and its all a rather big learning curb i dont think i'll ever take another persons word at face value after this. Your answers are appreciated alot thanx again.
I'd get staright onto the police about this. Any disputed motor accident should have the police's involvement.
If he does not accept liability it will have to go to the courts and it may take months before the situation is resolved.

However if you have comprehensive your insurance company will pay up and then take the other drivers insurance company to court to claim thier expenses back off them.

Also it is worth noting that if you have an independant witness his insurance company may refuse to go to court as they will know they will lose. That way liability will be established quickly.

has he claimed for whiplash? and added his mates as passengers? was he asian? (i think i may have seen it happen) calm down!.nowadays the bulbs in your lights can be checked to see if they were on at the time. (this is usually done in serious accidents on mways to see if the car in front had its brakes on before being hit) so this persons reverse lights shouldve been on? it may cost a bit to get them checked,if at all you can? but if your cars written off it may be worth a try.
