Do red light cameras only take pictures of the back of cars, or do they also get the front of vehicles going in the opposite direction?

if there is only one camera on the lights then it will more than likely be configured to read both. They simply work by something passing in front when the lights they cover are on red.

If you are referring to speed cameras though then it will be just one direction as the radar signals would confuse the device.
