Driving Without insurance
10 Answers
Hi I would like to know some information as I was stopped for a random police check and by that time I didn't have insurance. It was a genuine mistake, as I was in the process of changing my insurance company and also I haven't received any documents from my insurance company about renewing the insurance. I was without insurance for 18 days hasn't been driving till the day I was stopped, that's when I found out I hadn't got any insurance. I've got insurance straight after that day. I would like to know whether I will be banned from driving, or how many points I will be getting. If I were to get 6 points will I be able to do the driving test straight after n get license back (I have only been driving for a 1 year). And also is it better to appear on the court or does the court give credit for not wasting court time if I didn't appear for the hearing.

The MIB is paid for by a levy on all the motor insurance companies in the UK - guess who they pass that cost on to?
That's right - people who don't make innocent mistakes and actually ensure they have valid insurance.
Now I now this sounds very pious and holier than thou, but it could have happened (they are called accidents for a reason), and it is about time driving without insurance was treated as seriously and had the same social stigma as drink driving.

By virtue of MIB being there... the levy will be there irrelevant of any claims made or not.. Do we know if insurers levy us on charging a levy for MIB?? I wouldnt be surprised.. anyway..
As we know any institution will beg steal lie ..pretty much do anything to justify its existence.. and so on the argument leads us to chicken and egg situation..
SO..my point being.. lets not point fingers and accuse and belittle people who by virtue of being people make mistakes and from time to time end up in accidents or as in this case end up being stopped by the police. Lets see if we can help by givcing accurate and informed answers..
Saying that it looks like you will have to take 6 points love but it doesnt hurt to bat your eyelashes a bit should you get stopped again... the policemen are people too and you never know..

PS
You definitely want to be at the court hearing too..
If you suspect that you will get a bit confused at what might be going on during your hearing then it would be advisable to take a solicitor with you. Should you start thinking that judges are people too..... yes you will be on the right track... bat your eye lashes..
it wouldnt do much good I suspect but yes youd be right..
Judges are people too!

You are cleary an idiot.
Not only did you drive whilst uninsured - which I strongly suspect you did on purpose in order to have some money to buy White Lightning or fags or another tattoo or some other chav trapping - you then hurl abuse at people.
If you can't handle the answers don't post questions.
And if you are going to hurl abuse, at least use proper language.
The word is 'the' no 'da'.
Idiot.
