does anyone know if i will still be able to apply for a taxi license as i now have a criminal record of 'common assault'?

For a definitive answer contact the Taxi Enforcement Officer at your local council.

However one conviction should not bar you from obtaining a licence. When you apply you will have to have a CRB check anyway

no!!!! you're only given leaway if your an asian!!! there isn't enought asians on the road.
