Tax and MOT

Hi, I am selling my car wich is SORN (declared off the road) and uninsured. It needs an MOT which i have booked in. I know i can drive to the MOT centre without tax provided i have proof of appointment but i dont have insurance and cant get day insurance without tax and MOT.....catch 22!! does anyone know where i can get day insurance for an untaxed car?

Find an mot station that is prepared to collect and deliver your car on trade plates.

Will cost more, but will save a lot of hassle.

i thought trade plates only allowed the transportation of vehicles that werent taxed??doesnt necesseraly cover a car thats not insured does it??

The car would be covered on the garages insurance whilst displaying the trade plates.

trade plates allows you to drive any vehicle on the road that is not roadtaxed, mot'd, or fit for the road as long as you drive to a specified place
it is also used for driving forklifts to sites when they are on hire to companies
