if they find out you have no mot, then yes,as you should not have been on the road, but its very unlikely, unless his insurance company check, then you wont get a penny.
unless you were driving to the garage to get your mot - which is allowed

only allowed to drive for an mot if it was prebooked. can he really complain?maybe if he was to actually take a little time to check these things then there wouldnt be a problem. g o b s h i t e
The accident is a civil matter and the issue of no MOT is a criminal matter. Highly unlikely the two will be linked.
No MOT means absoutely nothing in relation to car insurance unless an item that would have failed the car on an MOT caused the accident (ie defective brakes or tyres).

We normally only check the validity (or lack of) of an MOT on:
a) total loss cases
b) theft cases
c) fraud cases

as this is where we ask for the documents.

There will be a note somewhere in your policy that a car must be in a roadworthy condition, but it's unlikely to state that it must have an MOT where applicable - don't mention it, it's not your fault, and the lack of an MOT has no bearing on this
mmmm - wonder what you would have done if you'd found out the other driver didn't have current m.o.t. ??
just becuase a car carries a mot doesnt mean the car is road worthy, eg.. mot 11months old tyers half worn at start but a lot of miles since are now bald same for brakes and steering parts.
