Classic Car Charity Run To France - French Law Information Required Please.

In August we are driving one of our classics a 1970 Porsche down to Spain for a charity event.
Can anyone tell us the road laws for France and Spain please ?.
We have had conflicting reports regarding speed limits and what we have to carry.

In addition to the AA web site there are 2 compulsory needs for drivers in France. 1, you must have a GB plate and 2, you must have headlight deflectors fitted. JD
plus
1) warning triangle
2) fire extinguisher
3) hi vi vests, in the event of breakdown
4) !st aid kit
And a spare pair of glasses if you use them for driving
