Hi, I live on a main road across from a promary school. On some days they must have after school activities and parents come to pick children up. Sometimes people park in front of my driveway. Not always completely blocking but usually in the way a little bit. What can I do? Thanks

Hi!

Complain to the school and ask them to send out a letter to all parents asking for them to be a bit more thoughtful in where and how they park.

:o)
Do you need to use the drive at the time, or is it just annoying they park there? If they are picking up their kids from school could you just wait till they come out and talk to them?
It's an offence actually

Whether or not I wanted to go in or out of my drive it would annoy me as I would never even dream of parking across someone's driveway unless it was an emergency.

I would politely point out to them that it is an offence and ask them to move. Parents dropping off or picking their kids up from school seem to think they can park where they like and seem to forget every single road rule!
Please do not tar all parents with the same brush, some are very considerate drivers( and parkers) although we have the same type of people at our school and it would annoy me.
It is only an offence under TMA 2004 in London and councils elsewhere in England and Wales that have been granted Special Enforcement Areas.
It would show more consideration if the kids went to school on the bus or walked.
Block em in by parking right up close, leave a note on their car telling them that you would have parked in your drive instead if they hadnt blocked it, and that you'll let them out when they come and ask....
its about time they brought out a LAW that banned people from bringing children to school by car if they live less than 1 mile away from the school
l no that you shuddent have to do it but you can pay the council to put a white line a cross your drive (cost around
60 to 80 ) then you have more push with the law , they carnt say that they havent seen the dropped curb

Would anyone realy notice if you did a good paint job on the road yourself? and if you did could you be 'done' for it?
i was ranted at by a woman for parking across her drive... however there was no drive or dropped kerb or white H mark - she had just knocked down her garden wall... and drove across the pavement.
i hadnt even noticed that at the time.
i'm pretty sure that it is illegal, but it was her self righteous arrogance that annoyed me....shed obv waited all day for me to come back.
anyone know the law in this situ?
