no mot
5 Answers
Hi i was pulled over by the police the other day and the officer gave a very poor excuse for pulling me over however thats not the case. I bought my bike off privately and the current owner told me there was tax and test and would forward the mot certificate but to my unfortune the police officer informed me that my bike had no mot and was given a producer to produce a document I don't have is there anything that can be done to afford court action and me ending up with a big juicy fine?

If you don't have an MOT then don't worry just go and get one before the 7 day 'producer' runs out. Take the new one along with your other documents to the police station and either :-
1) They will not notice and just write you have the docs
2) They notice and you claim that it was an honest mistake, you had just got the bike were told it had one and as soon as you found out otherwise went straight out and got one (a few tears here work wonders)
I have taken option 2 twice now (without the tears) and both times I have not even had a fixed penalty notice. Once I produce the docs and explain it was an honest mistake I have never heard anything more about it
