if a bus lane dosent have times on it ....eg...7am-9am -4pm-6pm or 24 hr is it ok to have nothing on the sign, just a normal bus lane sign, i.e a pic of a bus, motorbke, pushbike and the word taxi, but no hours, if there are no hours on it does it mean its 24hr or has they made a mistake and incorrectly signed it.

cheers and happy xmas

It means it is a 24 hour bus lane:

Bus lanes are clearly signed and lined. The words Bus Lane are painted in the bus lane and a thick white line shows the edge of the lane. The tarmac in the bus lane is often coloured red. The hours of operation for the bus lanes are found on blue signs at the start and along the side of the lanes. If no times are stated then the bus lane is in force at all times.

I knew you would come up with the answer Ethel, thats what I thought but was checking.
thanks and merry christmas and happy new year.

If you go to Swansea be careful. The bus lanes are 24 hours but are signed as 'Metro'. Visitors have no clue what that means.
As an addendum to Ethels answer, '24hr' signs on bus lanes are usually only used where there are limited time bus lanes nearby. In Northampton we have a section of bus lane which only operates in evening peak, but the bit before operates 24 hrs, so it has a sign to delineate between the 2 sections.
