I bought my first car last week on the 22nd and insured myself online for what I thought was that day. Then when I coming home from work on the 24th I hit something that was on the road from a truck on the motorway and the bacwheel came off my car and I hit the barrier. Me and my baby were luckily unharmed and I didnt injure anyone else.

My car was written off and it was just 200 to tow and crush my car so i decided to just pay the money and not claim. I got home from the hospital that night to the insurance documents and for some reason, I was not insured till midnight on the 25th, some 4 hours later. I honestly wouldnt have driver if i knew that.

I was wondering what the punishment is likely to be? I have just gotten my licence and need it for taking my sick baby to appointments and for my job as well.... If i get 6 points my licence will be taken away and a criminal record could mean I may lose my job as I am in social work.

Any adivse would be much appreciated.
