Does anyone know which song the following line comes from & who the group or singer is

We need to know what the line following this one is if possible.

might you have mis-heard the lyric?

a very similar line, "johnny's in the basement, mixing up the medicine" appears in bob dylan's "subterranean homesick blues".

if that's the song you mean, then the next line is
"I'm on the pavement, thinking about the government".

Thanks a lot - everyone else said they thought it was medicine but didnt know the song so will check the original question again
