Apostrophe usage

Why is this section called CD's, DVD's, Videos? Shouldn't it be CDs, DVDs, Videos?

As CD is short for Compact Disc etc, letters are missing, hence the apostrophe.

Sorry, but I disagree. There shouldn't be an apostrophe in either CDs or DVDs.

The apostrophe used between a word and the s indicates ownership so in CD's and DVD's it doesn't make any sense, and if it is to show missing letters it should be how Pottsy said and CD would become C'D' and DVD D'V'D' whether they were plural or not!

"I bought many CDs in the 1990s." Also correct and more modern.
