Who is exempt from the bedroom tax ie is a person over 70 exempt in NI. Thanks for any answers.

The "bedroom tax" will apply to housing benefit law in Northern Ireland from January 2017. However, the NI Assembly has put money in place to ensure that the effects of this benefit is fully mitigated. This means that people will not actually have to pay any extra money to their landlords because of this change in the law. It is not clear yet how these changes will actually happen but you should not see any change to your financial circumstance because of the bedroom tax until 2020 at the earliest. - See more at: http://
