I went to gig on Friday, which was excellent. The only thing that spoilt it were people incessantly using their mobile phones. They were recording the band, taking selfies and group shots.
Why can't people leave them at home or in their pockets.

They find it very difficult to police, emmie.
It's a modern day scourge melv (lol).
i'm sure they do. Shame as it spoils a lot of things, i had dinner guests once and one just sat there and used her mobile, she didn't get invited again.
A lot of gigs encourage mobile phone use - I agree, it's very annoying.
Some people can't be without them, I always turn my phone off when I go to the hospital. Other people sit there glued to the phones, I can manage without.
Correct, some people just can't be without their mobile phones for a minute. I see them on the phone behind the wheel driving in their cars every day.

Don't get me started about folk who talk in concerts.
Why do they bother coming!
Talk between the tracks!
theatre can be as bad, very bad manners i think.
Agree, Melv.....I will tell anyone near me to switch off.....but now I've bought a little torch with a very fine beam to shine onto the phone......haven't used it yet but I will........x
Question Author
About a quarter of the audience were using them, gness, so I'd need a searchlight :-)
Somebody shining a torch at mobile phones will hardly be annoying for others at all.
That's when it gets annoying, Melv.....all you can see in front of you are bright, bright screens that detract from the performance.........if you can get a view of the performance at all.....x

Think about it properly, Douglas.
It's publicity for the band. Most of the images / footage will be uploaded to soshall meeja.
I'm one of the lucky ones. Who remembers live bands in the 70's+80's without the use of cameras+ flanges
