I remember this group on a pop music ITV show in 1964. It was a competition for groups, I think won by The Bow Street Runners. I played in a group at the time and our repertoire included 'Hide and Seek'. I have Googled for more info on the Thyrds, but little out there.
Any information will be welcome! Thanks.

Thanks Trim, I had the records on vinyl, but I was really looking for more information on the group. I think the lead singer's surname was Ellis.Did they come from Kent?

I went to schoool with all four of the Thyrds - we're taking about 50 odd years ago but as I recall they were: Paul Ellis - Vocalist & Lead Guitar (also composer), Mike Hughes - rhythm guitar, Johnny Malcolb - bass guitar and Mick Teasdale the drummer.
Mick Teasdale was a class-mate and a friend (until he nicked my girlfiend) - he lived in Pimlico and I think Paul Ellis lived nearby, but as the school was in Clapham Junction and many of the pupils came by train, Kent is a possibility. I have a picture of the four of them if you're interested.
Hi:
I know/knew one of the band members, Dave Weedon, think he was the singer(?) -he used to come into my Club in Laindon, Essex...I found him a copy of the DECCA issue(it was also issued on OAK, but with different flip side) I haven't seen Dave since I sold the club about 6 years ago....he told me how the band got it's name etc..great stuff...keep in touch...my email is [email protected]
Hi, I played in a band with the drummer just after he left the thirds. I think his name was Mick. If you know how to contact him please let me know. Thanks, Jim on [email protected]
