(Heard at Glastonbury between acts)
I'm pretty sure this is a current band/artist.
The (male) vocals are a bit melancholy and the singer uses a fair bit of vibrato in his voice (he sounds a bit like the lead singer from Franz Ferdinand).
The instrumentation is a bit 'worldy' sounding with some very distinct Mariachi style brass on one or two numbers.
Nope, much more gentle sounding, perhaps not a band - probably a solo artist, but thatks for answering. The vocals are pretty distinctive, a bit 'dreary' sounding (but in a nice way) LOL.
I think I heard squeeze box/accordion on one or two numbers.
Come on someone help me out here - Markrae, I bet you know - post it as a response to Mamya and I'll pick it up and respectfully pretend you weren't answering me !
Some great bands there in those suggestions - I like and know Two Door Cinema Club, Mumford and the Vaccines but it's not them. Paul's suggestion is very close in sound - could well be them, I'm going to research them now.
Trim, it was being played between acts on the stage I was managing, I didn't get time to ask.
Nope, not them - vocals very similar to Fanfarlo, I seem to remember accordion too but that might just be my knackered, mud-soaked sun-baked post Glastonbury brain playing tricks. I remember it was fairly 'stripped down' sounding; just vocals and a few instruments. I need to listen to more Fanfarlo because that is very close.
